Lactation Boosting – Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip & Flaxseed Cookies

A “Hot Topic” among my breastfeeding friends is how can I increase my milk flow. I can give you lots of essential oil ideas and I will definitely be doing that in another post, but this is my favorite because honestly, who doesn’t love fresh baked chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, with warm, gooey yumminess all in one!  These are just plain delicious whether you’re breastfeeding or not.  There are many different recipes for these fabulous chunks of goodness, but this one is my favorite.

You may want to experiment and make your own version of these yummy treats, just make sure you include the three main ingredients: old fashion oats (not quick or instant), brewers yeast, and flax seed. These three magic ingredients are what makes the cookies successful in producing more breastmilk.

Lactation Boosting – Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip & Flaxseed Cookies

Directions:

Preheat oven at 375 degrees F.

Mix together 2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal and water, set aside for 3-5 minutes.

Cream (beat well) margarine and sugar.

Add eggs one at a time, and mix well.

Stir flaxseed mixture and add vanilla to the margarine mix.

Beat until blended. Sift together dry ingredients, except oats and chips.

Add to margarine mixture.

Stir in oats then chips.

Scoop or drop onto baking sheet, preferably lined with parchment.

The dough is a little crumbly, so it helps to use a scoop.

Bake 8-12 minutes, depending on the size of cookies.

**NOTE** *IT MUST BE BREWERS YEAST, NO SUBSTITUTIONS. *can be found at any local health food store.

ENJOY!  These are SERIOUSLY the best cookies ever!
